Get Your Butt Outta the Water... and celebrate World Oceans Day in Tofino

World Oceans Day is not just a day to celebrate the sea; it’s an opportunity to celebrate our connection to it and recognize our impact on it.

Here at Long Beach Lodge, we don’t take our view for granted. The ocean is the front and centre of our operations, figuratively and literally. We continue to explore new ways to support the sea and minimize our affect on the environment around us.

Explore the many ways we’re making a difference.

Sustainability at Long Beach Lodge Resort

Our town is small but mighty when it comes to conservation. We praise and support the local Pacific Rim Surfrider Foundation and their many campaigns to reduce the amount of plastic waste and other pollutants on our shorelines.
One particularly powerful message is being spread through the "Hold onto your Butt" campaign; that aims to bring awareness to recyclability of cigarette butts. Toxic butts thrown to the ground are washed into our drainage systems, eventually leading to local waters. Find onsite cigarette cannisters specifically designed for proper disposal.
In commemoration of collecting 1,000,000,000 cigarette butts off the Pacific Rim Coast, Surfrider and Jesse Jones of Some Sea Co created the 'Hold Your Butts Board' to bring awareness to the issue. Check out the short film by local filmmaker, Mike Dandurand

"Tofino Fall Getaway"
The resort's location and size is perfect. We really appreciated being able to just walk across to the surf shop for our morning lattes and watch the sunrise from the beach. The Great Room afforded great ocean views and great breakfasts. The dinner menu could definitely be improved. The selection very limited and actual meals disappointing. Suggestion: foods a little less yuppie and a little more comfort. The beach bistro served good quality wines and tasty food. Our cottage accommodation was private and quiet. The beds comfortable. When we asked at reception if we could get beach chairs we were told the hotel did not have any and we would have to purchase some from town. We stumbled across beach chairs at the surf shop which they rented out for the day. Suggestion: for the price of the accommodations it would be good customer service for reception to direct guests to the surf shop and to sign these out at no charge. Our trip was booked through BC Ferries Vacation. We encourage LBLR to continue partnering with them as it was their special "book 2 nights and get third night free" that prompted our stay at your resort. We plan on visiting Tofino again and look forward to staying with you.
"Wonderful Tofino Experience"
We had an amazing time at Long Beach Lodge Resort. The Resort was very quant and it felt very private the entire stay. The Surf Club was well staffed and friendly and we highly recommend the lessons! The cabins felt very private and the hot tub was a huge hit with the entire family. The ocean front setting is amazing - with dinner on the beach watching the sunset followed by a walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we would highly recommend a stay at Long Beach Lodge if in Tofino.
"fantastic all around"
spent 5 days here and there was never a dissapointment. The rainforest cottages are well equiped and we were looked in on every day to see if we needed anything. Customer service was top notch. From the front desk to the surf rental, the staff were cheery and very helpful. We will be back every year as long as they are in operation.
