Tofino and the west coast are always in season!
Visiting in May or September can be absolutely sublime – these shoulder months often bring spectacular weather and fewer tourists, making it the perfect time to experience everything our coast has to offer.

As we transition into summer-like weather, outdoor adventures abound. In May, the surf starts to calm, creating ideal conditions for intermediate and beginner surfers. Rent your board and wetsuit right from our on-site Surf Club. Or head out on a thrilling whale-watching tour and spot majestic grey whales, humpbacks (my personal favourite), and orcas in their natural element. Also look for seabirds, seals, sea lions, and our cute sea otters, who’ve made a triumphant return to our coastline after nearly disappearing due to the fur trade.

Hop on a bike and explore our stunning trail that winds into Tofino or leads through the National Park – serious cyclists can even make the trip all the way to Ucluelet. Take a boat ride to Hot Springs Cove before the summer crowds arrive. Or simply chill out with a stroll along beautiful Cox Bay Beach, enjoy a spa treatment, and take in the salty air. Eat, drink, and be merry!

May is also a special month for me, as I always look forward to the reopening of our SandBar Bistro! It’s the only beachfront patio in Tofino, serving up great food and drinks with unbeatable views. If it were any closer to Cox Bay, it would be on the beach! This season, we’ve added more tables and seating so even more guests can enjoy sunset dinners just steps from the ocean.

We’re truly humbled by the incredible TripAdvisor reviews that have placed us among the top 15 properties in Canada. If you’re thinking of visiting, take a moment to read what our guests have shared – some have been returning for years, while others are first-timers. One thing we hear over and over is that while the location is breathtaking, what brings people back is our warm, friendly, and helpful team. The lounge / restaurant has a fantastic view of the beach and ocean complimented by great food and service. In particular the bartender, Jessica is delightful. She is very engaging, energized and appears to be happy at what she does. I look forward to being served by her. The service at the resort by and large has been outstanding. We have stayed at the Lodge for many years and always return for the beauty of the coast and the wonderful Lodge. The menu this year was very nice and the two course option was quite reasonable. Coming with friends we all enjoy the comfortable, relaxing atmosphere of the great room as well as our own rooms with wonderful views of ocean. We look forward to our next visit. Everyone goes to Tofino for the beach and the Long Beach Lodge Resort is in the perfect location. The employee services are outstanding, from the moment you check in, to passing employees in the hallway, to the fabulous service by Natalia in the Great Room. Chatting with Matt from maintenance we could hear the pride in his voice for the work he does and for the work his coworkers do to ensure a memorable stay for all guests. The entire stay was a positive experience, even the rain and wind on our last day couldn't dampen it down. We only had to ask for the fire pit to be lit and within minutes Ekaterina from the front desk was doing that for us to sit and enjoy the sound of the waves late into the evening. Already looking forward to returning to the Long Beach Lodge Resort.
