Well, summer is officially winding down, and around here, I like to think of this time of year as the beginning of our “cosy season”. The days are still perfect for getting outside and enjoying the West Coast, but there’s something special about coming back to your room or cottage after a full day out, turning on the gas fireplace, and settling in for a quiet evening.
Fall also brings some of the most spectacular sunsets of the year. As the sun starts setting earlier, we often get to watch it disappear into the ocean, right in front of the Lodge. It’s one of those West Coast moments that never really gets old.
And, of course, October brings a little Halloween fun to the Lodge! At our Pumpkin Pipeline, our staff dress up in costumes and take to the waves for a fun surf contest. Guests can watch all the action from their rooms, the Great Room, or the beach right in front of the Lodge.
We’ve also extended our annual staff pumpkin carving tradition to include our guests this year. During the last week of October, we’ll have a free pumpkin carving station at the Surf Club, where you can create your own masterpiece. Our staff will judge the guest pumpkins, and the winning creation will take home a two-night stay at the Lodge. I’m looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
Fall is also a great time for groups and corporate retreats here at the Lodge. We have plenty to offer, from food and dining to activities, spa services, and help with planning, so there are lots of ways to make a group stay both productive and enjoyable. And with direct flights from Vancouver, getting everyone out to Tofino is easier than you might think.
And if you’re here this fall, make sure to leave a little time for the Rainforest Spa. After a day outside, there’s nothing better than a good massage or treatment.
