Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Purpose

As Housekeeping Supervisor with Long Beach Lodge Resort, you will ensure the effective and efficient operations of the Housekeeping Team. You are responsible for coordinating the housekeeping team and inspecting assigned areas to ensure our standards of a luxury property are met. As a Housekeeping Supervisor you will manage many priorities and demands and have the ability to solve problems, support staff, as well as perform the duties of a housekeeper when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the highest level of service by exceeding guest expectations to build loyalty
  • Overseeing the daily operations of Housekeeping, managing arrivals, departures, stay overs and extra rooms
  • Plan and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping team
  • Coaching and mentoring the housekeeping team including performance reviews
  • Monitor labour in accordance with occupancy levels
  • Establish and/or implement operating procedures and standards
  • Monitor and motivate housekeeping team to ensure high levels of productivity
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring and training housekeeping employees in the procedures and techniques
  • Maintains inventory of amenities, chemicals and other supplies to ensure items are in stock and reorders in timely manner
  • Facilitate positive and effective communication between Housekeeping and Guest Services
  • Assign rotation cleaning duties (e.g. steam clean carpets) as required
  • Assist Housekeeping Manager as required


  • A secondary school diploma is preferred
  • Graduate of Hotel Management or Hospitality program a definite asset
  • Minimum one year of supervisory housekeeping experience in a luxury resort property
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Computer literacy is imperative including Microsoft Office and Opera
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) certification is an asset

Working conditions

Flexible, must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, nights as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs

Physical requirements

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
  • Physically fit; frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs

I attended a small family wedding at Long Beach Lodge with a few days added at the beginning and end of the wedding weekend. We all had a wonderful time and were very well taken care of by all of the friendly, helpful staff. Such a beautiful location as well.

This was a great stay. The accomodation was very comfortable and spacious and we were just in a standard room. The staff were excellent - I left an item in the room on check out, they messaged me to notify me within a few hours of checking out and arranged it to be sent free of charge to another Canadian hotel I would be staying at. I was so upset when I realised I lost the item but was astounded by their above and beyond approach to fixing the situation at no cost to me - having staff like this really shows this place is top tier !!! I also had a private surf lesson with Alexia and she was fantastic and so patient and knowledgeable. I am not a beach/ocean person by any means but wanted to try a new experience and am so glad I did because she made me feel very comfortable, safe and made it fun! I’m so glad we stayed here and would stay again!
"Wonderful Destination"
We celebrated our anniversary and what a wonderful time we had. The rooms were great. the people were extremely friendly and helpful and the restaurant the best. We've never had such a wonderful and different experience in fine dining as we did there. It was a long travel for us but worth every mile!
