Tidbits from Tim

Tim Hackett - Owner, Long Beach Lodge Resort

April 2024

After an amazing March with both Spring Break and Easter, we are looking forward to welcoming our April guests. April’s the last month before the late spring and early summer seasons really get underway.

During April, Tofino enjoys nice, warmer spring weather, with all of our outdoor activities including biking, surfing, beach and dog walking, and hiking. Also don’t forget our food and beverage opportunities. I think my favourite guest package this month has to be our three night visit with electric bikes included for two days. It is now possible to ride all the way through the national park to Ucluelet, a ride of over 30 KM! For the less energetic including me, Tofino is an easy 8 KM ride away, with all its attractions and shopping. Also our two night bed and brunch package including breakfast each day and an additional $100 food credit, is a no brainer! You never have to leave the resort.

I am very excited to announce that Trevor Peulen is returning to the resort as General Manager, starting on or before June 1st. Trevor has been managing a hotel in Victoria but wishes to come back to Tofino. Our staff are all really pleased that he is returning, as am I. He will be a great asset in assisting both our guests and staff. Many of you already know Trevor. He will be delighted to reconnect with many of our valued guests.

The other big news is that our Mayor and the majority of council have banned immediately the illegal Short Term Rentals in Tofino. This will have a huge positive impact on our community and residents, as without illegal STR’s, housing will become available and more affordable for residents, and there will again be long term rentals on the market. The ban on illegal STR’s was long overdue and their predominantly out of town investors or speculators, will no longer be able to fly under the radar.

  Trevor Peulen

Best wishes for a happy April and warmer weather.

"The most sustainable hotel in Tofino!"
2024-02-24
BetterTable.ca had the pleasure to stay at the Long Beach Lodge Resort, an amazing sustainable hotel with very friendly staff and a fantastic food and beverage experience. They have EV charging stations, move away from single use plastic, feature tasty local food and implement zero waste strategies, on top of many more initiatives. Ideally located a few meters from a beautiful beach with surfers. You must go if you stay in Tofino!
"Another Great Stay!"
2024-02-28
We've been taking winter breaks in Tofino/Ucluelet for almost 20 years and enjoy the lack of crowds and ability to beach walk & experience some awesome winter storms. Long Beach Lodge makes a great base as we take our 2 labs and book one of the a dog friendly rooms on the ground floor that have walk out to the beach and a great view. This year was no exception with no rain while we were there and 2 days of storm force winds that made for great breaking surf. The room was great as always, staff all excellent and we ate 2 nights in the restaurant enjoying great meals and good beer both nights. An added plus was a new bank of 8 Level2 EV chargers (CCS) by the entrance with complimentary charging for guests, so keeping the car charged for drives to hiking locations and in prep for out return home was totally painless.

We had the most wonderful stay at Long Beach Lodge. The staff was friendly, helpful, and made you feel right at home. The cottages were roomy, quiet, and cozy. We enjoyed the hot tub and all the amenities provided. We will certainly be back!
