Out Front with Queen of the Peak

For the last 10 years, Queen of the Peak Surf Championships have taken place on Cox Bay, just steps from our doors. Hosted by our friends at Surf Sister Surf School, Shelter Restaurant, and Billabong, this competition offers an opportunity for athletes to compete against fellow female surfers from around the world.

Shop, snack, spectate and support this bustling annual event, happening this weekend. Not only are there three days of impressive wave-riding to catch, the beach comes alive with local vendors and the town is abuzz all week with fun times. Many events feature art, film, and dancing in celebration of surf, our community’s favourite pass time. This cold-water culture is what draws many to our coastline and we even have a few LBLR staff members competing. Queen of the Peak serves up a world-class experience for both those in the water and on the beach. Come cheer them on from the comfort of the Great Room or SandBar Bistro, where we'll be serving up pulled pork chili, poutine and hot drinks all weekend.

"Special place"

Long Beach Lodge did not disappoint. Cider and a note was put in our room to celebrate our sister-in-laws stay away. All staff so friendly we honestly felt like they were friends. Sunset and ocean views so calming. Great food at on site restaurant. Easy access to local recreation. We were very looked after and left knowing we’d be back. "Another Great Stay!"

We've been taking winter breaks in Tofino/Ucluelet for almost 20 years and enjoy the lack of crowds and ability to beach walk & experience some awesome winter storms. Long Beach Lodge makes a great base as we take our 2 labs and book one of the a dog friendly rooms on the ground floor that have walk out to the beach and a great view. This year was no exception with no rain while we were there and 2 days of storm force winds that made for great breaking surf. The room was great as always, staff all excellent and we ate 2 nights in the restaurant enjoying great meals and good beer both nights. An added plus was a new bank of 8 Level2 EV chargers (CCS) by the entrance with complimentary charging for guests, so keeping the car charged for drives to hiking locations and in prep for out return home was totally painless. "No Need To Look Elsewhere"

LBL has everything. Beach-side location; comfortable, luxurious rooms; excellent restaurant easily competes with more famous restaurants in Tofino; helpful and friendly staff through-out. Fall asleep and wake up to the sound of crashing waves.
