June is one of the most rewarding times of year to be in Tofino, and at the Lodge. It marks the start of long beach days and true summer conditions, with warming weather, great surf, and plenty of opportunities to get outside. It’s a fantastic month for hiking, biking, and surfing, and for enjoying everything the coast has to offer as the season settles in.
If you’re considering your first visit to the resort this summer, I would encourage you to take a look at our TripAdvisor reviews. They offer a good sense of what to expect, and we’re proud to consistently be recognized as one of the best-value upscale properties in Tofino.
We recently held our annual yard sale as part of our ongoing efforts to give furniture, bedding, and various items throughout the resort a second life wherever possible. It’s something we look forward to each year, and it reflects our belief in reducing waste and keeping as much as we can out of landfill. All proceeds go toward fun staff activities, chosen by our team.
June itself is also a month where we focus on our people. Ahead of the busy summer season, we plan a number of staff events to ensure our team is ready, supported, and excited to welcome and care for our guests. A highlight of the month is our annual staff golf tournament, which has become a much-anticipated tradition and a great day for the team to come together.
We’re also especially excited to share that this year we’re offering a kids’ program here at the Lodge in partnership with the Raincoast Education Society, running throughout July and August. It’s a great opportunity for kids to learn about the incredible nature that surrounds us here, while parents can enjoy a bit of well-deserved time to themselves in the mornings.
For our family, June is always a special time to be at the Lodge. We make a point of visiting with our grandkids, along with our dog Maisy, for an early summer break. It’s a rhythm we always look forward to, and we’d love to have you join us this June as well.
Best wishes,
Tim Hackett
