At Long Beach Lodge, we love animals all year round, but February has become a special tradition. For the entire month, we don’t charge a pet fee, and for every furry guest who visits, we make a donation to the CARE Network. It’s our way of celebrating our four-legged friends while giving back, as our guests enjoy time with their pets.
February is also a time to celebrate the incredible people who make the Lodge what it is, our amazing staff. Every year, we take a moment to recognize team members reaching milestones. For those working with us between one and three years, we gather at our Surf Club for a reception. This year, 20 team members were celebrated, and we are so grateful for their dedication.
For staff who have been with us longer than three years, we held our traditional Long Service Dinner in the Great Room, honoring what I like to call the foundation of the Lodge. With 22 team members celebrating between 3 and 22 years, there’s plenty of reason to celebrate!
A particularly special milestone this year was the 15th anniversary of Chance McCullough, our Director of Recreation & Culture and familiar face as Manager of the Surf Club, as well as Julieta Luarez, our all-time smiling Housekeeping Supervisor. To celebrate, we gifted Chance a custom surfboard with a photo inlay of him riding the waves at Cox Bay — a fitting tribute to his energy and passion. Julieta, who loves exploring new places, received a travel voucher, and we can’t wait to hear about her adventures.
Our dedicated staff is one of the main reasons guests return year after year. From welcoming pets and families to creating memorable experiences for everyone who visits, their commitment is what truly makes the Lodge special. This February, we raise a toast to our furry friends and our exceptional team.
We hope to welcome you this spring!
Best wishes,
Tim Hackett
