Job Purpose

As a Houseperson with Long Beach Lodge Resort, you have an opportunity to showcase our luxurious beach front acreage by ensuring that guest rooms, public spaces and grounds are clean and properly presented at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Maintains all exterior garbage cans, and ashtrays
  • Collect, return, sort, and organize garbage and recyclables
  • Sweeps cottage walkways as needed
  • Keeps entrance, breezeway and walkways clear of sand, debris and trash
  • Stock vending machines and dog bags throughout the resort as needed
  • Provide luggage assistant for guests as requested
  • Open hot tub at Surf Club and ensure area is clean and well maintained
  • Ensure private guest hot tubs are clean and in proper working order
  • Clean BBQ and surrounding area (ensure necessary utensils are present)
  • Assists other departments as requested
  • Report any engineering problems or repairs to Maintenance Manager
  • Maintain hotel guest room and public space through preventative maintenance


  • A secondary school diploma is preferred
  • Previous housekeeping experience is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
  • Must be willing to learn, self-motivated and be comfortable working in a technically demanding environment
  • Capable to perform light maintenance duties
  • Attention to detail

Working conditions

Flexible, must be willing to work a variety of hours, including days, nights as well as weekends and holidays based on the business needs

Physical requirements

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift for up to 8 hours
  • Physically fit; frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending stairs
