Summer is in full swing at Long Beach Lodge Resort, and there is a wonderful energy around the property as guests enjoy beach days, surf sessions, sunset dinners, and everything that makes this time of year so special on the West Coast.
One of the signs that summer has truly arrived is gathering our team for our annual staff photo, followed by our annual golf tournament at the beautiful Long Beach Golf Course. Both have become summer traditions and a great opportunity for our team to spend some time together before the season reaches its peak.
If you are still thinking about a summer escape, there are a few last spots available over the coming weeks. This summer, we’re also very pleased to be partnering with the Raincoast Education Society to offer complimentary Kids Camps for our younger guests. Designed for children ages 6–12, these fun and interactive camps take place right here on the Lodge property, Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., running from July 6 through August 28. It’s a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about the unique coastal environment while having fun outdoors, and it gives parents a chance to enjoy a little time to themselves. We hope many of our younger guests and their families will take advantage of this special opportunity during their stay.
Acknowledging that I say it every year, September and October are still my two favourite months in Tofino and at the resort. Fewer visitors in town, lower room rates, beautiful late-summer weather, and endless opportunities to enjoy the outdoors make fall a wonderful time to visit. Head out in search of whales and bears, hike through the rainforest, cycle the scenic path through Pacific Rim National Park, catch a few waves, wander our beautiful beaches, or simply settle in to watch one of our spectacular sunsets. Another wonderful activity is a visit to the Ucluelet Aquarium, Canada’s first catch-and-release aquarium. This non-profit organization showcases the incredible marine life found right here in our local waters. Explore tide pools and kelp forests, get up close to jellyfish, octopus, sea urchins, and a remarkable variety of colourful fish. You will be truly amazed. Whatever your plans, be sure to leave some time to simply relax and enjoy the peaceful pace that makes this season so special.
