Storm Season is here! Winter storms along our coast are truly something to behold. With full exposure to the Pacific, waves can exceed 6 meters, crashing onto our beach and tossing logs around like toothpicks. From the cozy comfort of your room or the Great Room, guests get a front-row seat to this wild, unforgettable spectacle.
Amid all this winter excitement, we’re thrilled to share some wonderful news: the World Travel Awards have named us Best Boutique Hotel/Resort in British Columbia for the second year in a row. It’s a huge honour, especially with so many incredible boutique properties across BC. Boutique hotels are all about smaller, intimate spaces with unique style, personalized service, and special locations, whether in the city, countryside, or right on the beach.
As the year winds down, we’re heading into our maintenance closure, starting with a brunch buffet in the Great Room on the morning of closure, followed by our traditional staff Christmas party in the evening. The party will be full of delicious food, fun prizes, and heartfelt gratitude for the dedication of every team member. We are so grateful to have such an outstanding staff, every role contributes to the Lodge experience that our guests love and cherish.
The holiday season is always a highlight here at the Lodge. Our Christmas lights are already twinkling, and the staff have just decorated the Christmas tree, adding that special festive touch. From opening on December 18, we’ll be offering a special Holiday menu, as well as a delicious four-course New Year’s menu in the Great Room. Christmas and New Year’s at the Lodge are truly magical, with festive feasts, sparkling lights, and that “coming home for the holidays” feeling, whether you’re staying in a Cottage or a Lodge Room.
From all of us, our very best wishes for a joyful holiday season and a happy 2026. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Best wishes,
Tim Hackett
