Christmas and New Years in Tofino

What to do, what to do …

Tofino may not have the snow and wintry atmosphere most associate with Christmas in Canada, but that does not mean the Christmas and holiday spirit is not alive and well on the Pacific Rim.

Considering a Christmas or New Years getaway but not quite sure where to go this year?

Christmas in TofinoHow about waking up Christmas morning or New Year’s morning to the sound of crashing surf, the smell of fresh, cool West Coast pine and cedar and breakfast by a crackling fire in the Great Room as the morning mist is burnt and swept away by the morning sun.

Long Beach Lodge Resort chef Ian Riddick has been planning his Christmas and New Year’s menu for months. Here is a small sampling of special sittings and special cuisine certain to draw rave reviews.

The Resort has four special sittings scheduled between Christmas and New Years:
  • On Christmas Day, a traditional Christmas dinner with a West Coast flair.
  • A Boxing Day Brunch with chef's station in the Great Room
  • A New Year's Eve dinner with entertainment in the Great Room
  • A New Year's Day brunch with chef's station in the Great Room

The traditional Christmas dinner will feature choices of organic Nanoose greens, five spice duck consume, roasted turkey, roasted breast and cranberry turkey leg sausage, halibut, butternut squash ravioli and other items.

Christmas Long Beach Lodge ResortOn New Year’s Eve, you are invited to enjoy the firework display on Cox Bay Beach – scheduled to start at 8:00 pm leaving time to enjoy dinner and entertainment in the Great Room.

The Resort will be decorated with all the lights, bunting and baubles associated with this wonderful season. Feel right at home settled into an overstuffed chair close to the Christmas Tree in the Great Room while enjoying the warmth of the massive wood-burning fireplace and enjoying the views and sounds of the winter surf on Cox Bay.

That is Christmas and New Year’s in Tofino and at Long Beach Lodge Resort.
