Best Place to Storm Watch in Tofino
Storm watching at Long Beach Lodge Resort offers the best experience
The number of Pacific storms that hit Tofino varies from year-to-year. Some years there are only a handful; other years we have experienced as many as 20 storms during storm season (mid-to-late fall and winter).
During some of the most violent storms, 12-metre-tall ocean swells pound Cox Bay beaches and Headland View Point while winds over 60 knots in force scream off the Pacific Ocean, blasting sea water and rain in equal parts.
Long Beach Lodge Resort is the best place to witness these tempests as the resort’s beach is the only beach outside of the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve that is fully exposed to the open Pacific.

It is interesting to note that while storms don't usually show up until November, this year we have already had two spectacular storms in October.
