Resort HistoryOpened in April of 2002, Long Beach Lodge Resort began as the dream of Tim Hackett, the owner, who, when not at the Resort, lives at Brentwood Bay near Victoria, British Columbia.
A builder and developer for the past 30 years, the project was a natural for Hackett, as two of his passions are the ocean and cedar shingled buildings. Working with his brother, Tony, he oversaw every aspect and detail of the design and construction of the Resort.
Hackett fell in love with the West Coast when he first visited in the 1960’s, camping on the beach with friends. He believes that Cox Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, with its pounding surf, expansive sand and glorious sunsets that make for an unforgettable experience.
