For many people, Tofino, on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island, is a pristine destination that provides a stunning backdrop to wander a deserted beach, stare at the night stars, or curl up in front of a roaring fire with a good book, glass of wine and merely savour the soul soothing sound of crashing waves.

But for those with a more adventurous spirit, Tofino is also a high-octane, “Get Out There!” kind of place. Popular activities include hiking, kayaking, surfing, beachcombing, whale watching, deep-sea fishing and scuba diving. Tofino eco tours offer visitors a chance to explore the unspoiled local floral and fauna. Located in the centre of Clayoquot Sound, Tofino is blessed with kilometres of endless beaches, surging ocean, wildlife, and towering old growth rainforests. Recently designated BC’s first United Nations Biosphere Reserve, Tofino caters to all levels of outdoor adventurer.

Sea kayakers will be delighted with the sights and sounds
of the waters in Clayoquot Sound and maybe spot a black
bear hunting for food along the shoreline. Hikers can
marvel at eagles swooping overhead and explore tranquil
paths amongst trees as old as time. You may even spy
transient gray whales that live offshore in the area. Walk
the sandy beaches and discover incredible tidal communities
of starfish, sea urchins, oysters and many other fascinating
saltwater creatures. The area abounds with things to do that
will build memories every step of the way.

We are extremely excited to announce the opening of The Fishing Club at Long Beach Lodge Resort (April 2010)! Our Captain & Fishing Guide, Krystal Aikman will take you out on our brand new Thunder Jet – TJ 25 OFFSHORE with twin power. While this boat is designed and built for our West Coast offshore waters, it has the flexibility to be a great boat for family outings in the waters of Clayoquot Sound.
The Surf Club at Long Beach Lodge Resort opened in the Summer of 2009 offering individual, customized surf instruction and all of the equipment you will need, right on-site.There is no better way to be introduced to this sport than through our very own Surf Club. We offer the best learning environment in Tofino... you get a private 2.5 hour lesson which means that you decide the pace and level of instruction and you decide the number of people in your lesson (maximum of 5). And your equipment rental and lesson start right here on-site! No hassles... it's the quickest way to get you out into the water having fun! The Surf Club is available exclusively to our in-house guests.
